The Circuit de Catalunya is the most popular of all the test tracks and has a reputation for being highly demanding in technical terms and especially tough on the tyres. The 4.7km circuit became a fixture on the F1 calendar in 1991. Most of the teams will be testing out their new cars in Barcelona in the first part of March. This will be the last test before the season gets underway and, if the restrictions on testing remain in force, it will be the last to take place this year. All the more reason then for the teams to put in the maximum number of laps in their new vehicles on the Circuit de Catalunya.
Our coach departs around midday on Friday 6th March 2009 from Triptis (Thuringia). The journey then continues via Mönchengladbach, heading for France with pick-ups by arrangement along the way. Details of these pick-up points and times won't be made available until we know who has signed up and we can plan the precise route.
After a smooth and pleasant overnight cruise in our coach, we will arrive in Spain on Saturday morning and head straight for our hotel in Lloret de Mar. The rest of the day will be free for you to explore Lloret. On Sunday, we'll then head for Barcelona and either tour the city in our coach with a German-speaking guide or, for the more individualist members of the group, stroll around 'Barca' on foot. In the afternoon/evening, the football fans in the party can attend the FC Barcelona versus Athletico Bilbao match at the Camp Nou stadium.
On Monday at around midday, we are off to the race track to watch the Formula One tests. As usual, Nick won't miss out on this golden opportunity to chat with his fans who will also be able to bask in the warm Spanish spring sunshine (not guaranteed, of course!) while they watch events unfold on the track. How much time he actually spends behind the wheel will clearly depend on the test schedule drawn up by BMW. The test sessions can be enjoyed from any of the grandstands that are open on the day. At the end of the test session, we hope to be able to join Nick once again in the pit lane, where he will give us some exclusive insights into what goes on behind the scenes. On Tuesday, we'll attend the morning test session before boarding our coach to return to our homes in Northern Europe. Depending on your personal destination, this should be some time on the morning of 11th March.INCLUDED IN THE PRICE:
